Ahead of International Women’s Day 2020 on Sunday, we thought it would be nice to take you behind the scenes at Large Mortgage Loans as we recognise some of the hardworking females that work within the London office. Below is a little introduction into who they are and their role within the Large Mortgage Loans family.
For those who know Yeliz, they may refer to her as part of the furniture! She’s been a member of the Large Mortgage Loans team from the very beginning. Originally joining the company as admin, Yeliz has worked her way up the ladder to Operations Manager and now Chief Operating Officer.
Outside of work Yeliz is often found with the two greatest loves in her life, Charlie and Daisy. Both adorable pugs (even if they are a little overweight!).
Got a question about financial regulation? Lynda’s your woman! Her undeniable knowledge draws upon almost 20 years’ experience in the mortgage industry.
As our Training & Compliance manager, Lynda is responsible for all compliance related matters, as well as training new team members and developing the talent we have in house. In addition, she’s an excellent listener and can always be relied upon to cheer us up with her Scottish wit!
Similar to Yeliz, Samera has been at Large Mortgage Loans for almost 16 years. She joined the business as an admin assistant and has risen up the ranks to the position she currently holds as Accounts & Operations Manager.
Samera (or Sammy as she’s called in the office) is a fountain of all office admin knowledge. IT issue? Sammy will sort it. Accounts query? Sammy will sort it. Telephony issue? Sammy will sort it… you get the idea! There really isn’t anything Sammy can’t do.
Caroline has been a stalwart of Largemortgageloans.com since 2006. In that time, she has built a hugely loyal client base who return to Caroline every time for their funding needs, assured that there isn’t much she doesn’t know about the high net worth mortgage space.
Extremely well-travelled and often spotted skiing down the finest slopes in Europe, Caroline is also another one of our resident comedians; she doesn’t suffer fools gladly and has a dry enough wit to let you know it!
Aimee might be one of the most tenacious brokers in the industry – there is seemingly no case she won’t take on and her clients know she will stop at nothing to get them the results they require.
When she’s not sourcing the most complex finance deals known to man, Aimee can either be found surfing the seas or snowboarding the slopes, or more lately, changing nappies!
When Rudyard Kipling wrote “if you can keep your head when all about you lose theirs…” he may well have been talking about Shanel. As Executive Assistant to CEO Paul Welch as well as 2 further brokers, she certainly has her hands full! Despite this continuous pressure, Shanel always remains a calm, caring influence who takes pride in doing her job well.
She’s also managed to find the time in the last 18 months to get married, purchase her first home with her husband and is now expecting her first child, further proving the theory that not all heroes wear capes!
Our Essex charmer Sam has been at Large Mortgage Loans for over five years now. When asked what her favourite part of the job is she explained that “its great to be able to interact with so many different people, from so many different walks of life with such different requirements”.
Family time is key for Sam and in her spare time you’ll often hear about her adventures with her parents, sister or little nephew. Either that or treating herself in the nail salon!
Anita joined us as a paraplanner towards the end of 2019 and has fitted in seamlessly thanks to her industry experience, but in no small way to her bubbly personality as well.
As a mother to a nine-year-old ‘sassy lady’, keeping her brokers in check is a doddle! Her organisation, time management and natural flare for the role ensures applications are impeccable and clients are updated every step of the way.
Amy joined the business in 2018. Since her arrival she has not only been an integral part of the paraplanning team, but she has also been a key figure of internal event planning with one of the best Christmas parties the team have survived!
Now taking organisation to the next level after the arrival of her second child Zach, we’re looking forward to her return later this year.
Emily joined Large Mortgage Loans just over 1 year ago and it’s fair to say her presence has been felt! Aside from the great work she puts in promoting everything we do here and finding new ways to engage with our client base, Emily is one of the brightest personalities you can contain within four walls.
Prone to the occasional random jig on the dance floor, a whizz of a social secretary and a willing karaoke participant at any time of the day – just don’t ask her what she calls Fridays!
